Here is the Tracker Mini Note Input Mode (BETA).

New Features

  • Note Input Mode
  • Note Scale Options in the Main Menu

Known Issues:
Beat Slice has misconfigured notes

Note input mode adds the ability to toggle the 8 buttons under the screen to input or preview 8 different notes.

  • On the pattern screen press Shift + Note to toggle note input mode
  • The set of notes available can be changed by holding Note and using the D-pad to select 8 notes in a row.
  • Set a note scale in the project settings to change the available notes. The root note selection is the note in the lower leftmost corner.

Other Changes: Holding the Note input button does not bring up the note selection screen to select a note when the Note Input mode is not activated.

This firmware update contains the hot fixes released yesterday.

Download Firmware:
TrackerMini_2.1.0.1153b.zip (1.6 MB)

  1. Download and extract the firmware file.
  2. Copy the .ptf firmware file to your Tracker SD card > Firmware folder.
  3. Save your current project to avoid any potential data loss.
  4. Navigate to Config > Firmware > Update Firmware > .ptf file.
  5. Press Select and confirm with Yes.

Awesome, will test this very soon. That is going to change the mini’s workflow radically !

The implementation seems very clever and natural to use. It was something I was concerned about with this feature request, but Polyend found the best way to make it feel as it was there from the beginning.

Does the project scale setting also work when entering notes manually in the tracker sequencer ?

If yes, I believe that’s even another feat requested now addressed :star_struck:

This is massive… Just tried this out on my train ride home and it makes the Mini so much more playable, and it makes experimenting with the perc patches so much more enjoyable… Keep up the good work you guys!

Update : just tested briefly. It’s like it should have been there since the beginning. All reviews must be redone :sweat_smile:

Didn’t manage to check if the project scale lock does also filter the notes when entered manually in the sequencer. That would be awesome if it works.
