pioneer toraiz sp-16 and DJS-1000 can also do this. Here they call it Hotslice:

Yeah it’s pretty standard functionality in samplers with slice.
I’m really hoping this can be implemented soon, the request was first raised on the previous polyend GitHub 4 years ago.
Maybe it is nearing the top of the list? Would make a massive difference to those of us chopping samples and breaks.
It is nr. 6 on most voted features and soon nr. 5, when our mods has closed the “Sampling over USB” wish
