Release Notes

The new firmware introduces the ability to sample audio over USB for both devices. The Tracker Mini receives the option to set notes to a desired scale in the main menu, and Note Input Mode, which allows toggling the eight buttons under the screen to input or preview eight different notes.

Fixes

  • Reverb was inactive after exiting a game (Bug report)
  • Glitches could appear on game screens (Bug report)
  • Previewing the overdrive effect in the Sample Editor overwrote the first loaded Instrument (Bug report)
  • OFF/FAD/CUT was not pasting when copying from tracks 1-8 into tracks 9-16 (Bug report)
  • The Instrument MIDI Mapping list was off by three places

How to use USB Sampling:

  1. Connect the device to a USB host.
  2. In Config → USB, select audio output. This will output audio to the Tracker via USB.
  3. Open the Sample Recorder and Select USB to record USB audio.

:information: UI Changes

  • Outside of the Sample Recorder, USB overwrites the internal mix only when the Input+Output option is selected and the device is attached to a host.
  • Unlike line-in playback, USB playback(Output) will not mix in the USB audio when not in the sample recorder.

Previously, Tracker overwrote the output in every mode if some data from the connected host appeared. *Now it is dependent on the config option and USB connection detection. For example, if you have no USB connection and have USB set to input+output, you will not get output at the line out. In the past, you would hear audio playback at the line out.

Installation Guide

  1. Download and extract the Tracker Firmware file.
  2. Copy the extracted .ptf firmware file to your Tracker SD card > Firmware folder
  3. Optional: before updating save your current project to avoid any potential data loss
  4. In Tracker navigate to Config > Firmware > Update Firmware > .ptf file
  5. Press Select and confirm with Yes
  6. After the update, navigate to File > create New Project to correctly initialize Config settings

Thank you, guys! Great work. Enjoying the note input mode a lot on my tracker mini!

Hi, I’ve updated the firmware and I can no longer select notes with the note button. I go into the pattern, select an instrument, hold note and nothing happens.

I can switch to the direct note input mode with shift + note and pressing the note button then brings up the grid so I can select which 8 are selected for direct input but I can’t bring that grid up to select notes normally when I’m not in direct input mode.

I’m noticing some additional updates were made to the UI that are not in the changelog? It looks really nice! Thank you for the update!
