Tracker Mini Typing Overhaul

What is the problem?

The system for typing on the Tracker Mini is not fluid. Others have suggested USB keyboards, but that is not something we should have to do with a portable device. I propose a rotation/scroll based typing system similar to what is found on vintage arcade games and video game scoreboards/leaderboards. It would utilize the arrow keys and increment adjustment keys. No additional hardware needed.

What should this feature achieve?

A rotation/ scroll based typing system in which the left/right keys control the typing indicator; then the up/down/+/- keys scroll through the alphabet/numbers. Holding/ tapping shift would alternate between lowercase/numbers and uppercase/symbols.

Are there any workarounds?

No, just pain and suffering

Tracker+ OG/mini - using a usb typing keyboard for naming files or other functions

What is the problem? Naming files using direction buttons is slow on the mini What should this feature achieve? Being able to plug in a usb typing keyboard and type file names that way would speed up the resampling / naming process on the mini. It could also lead to faster workflows in other areas too like selecting effects or it could be used like the grid on a trackerOG/+ , especially if it was possible to use a usb keyboard with a rotary encoder, this could act like the wheel on a tracker A…

Vintage arcade game and video game scoreboards/ leaderboards are a good example, but I’ve seen it utilized constantly throughout my life on other devices. I cannot for the life of me find a technical term for the system I am describing but here’s a pretty simple reference starting at around the 18 second mark

Improve the text entry in the Keyboard-View when naming / renaming things, by using the Tracker Mini’s new Button-Layout more efficiently. What is the problem?
