Naming / Renaming UX Improvements

Improve the text entry in the Keyboard-View when naming / renaming things, by using the Tracker Mini’s new Button-Layout more efficiently.

What is the problem?

  • To use uppercase characters, you have to navigate to Caps Lock at the moment, then to the letter and then back to Caps Lock to disable it.
The Shift button does not do what you naturally would expect.
  • To move left / right within the text you have to move all the way to the top to focus on the textfield.

What do you want to achieve?

  • Use Shift to allow for quick uppercase character entry

  • Big + to act as a Caps Lock (or alternatively Double-Tap Shift as suggest @liimiited)

  • Big - as a Backspace

  • Small +/- as arrow replacements to move forward/backwards in the text

  • Use the +/- buttons to move left/right within the text when not focused in the textfield

Are there any workarounds?

  • move to capslock with the d-pad to enable and disable uppercase
  • move up to the textinput field to move left and right within the text

@here Thanks for your wish. It’s now ready for voting

I often found myself annoyed at having to take extra steps to backspace, thankfully I don’t have to create a wish since there’s already one

My idea was to use the right most free screen button (6th one) for backspace like the delete key on a keyboard, but the big minus (-) would be just as good.

The cursor would be a nice plus, but I can understand that’s more work to implement, backspace only might be the matter of a key mapping  maybe the wish can be partially granted quickly?
