Show values in the screen anyway if empty track is selected

What is the problem?

When an empty track row is selected, the screen doesn’t show any value. So if the user wants to fill this track with any sample or set up, they have to unselect the row, select the sample, select again the row and then fill.

What do you want to achieve?

The reason behind this current and intentional is because “If there are no active steps, there are no values to show.” But let’s think it in another way. What if the user wants to make some previous configurations with delay, overdrive, repetition, etc. and of course select a sample and then fill? This will provide a sample filling with those pre-made configurations.

Are there any workarounds?

No, It’s just a workflow

Hi @pineal just a small detail. Can you edit your wishes to remove the first person, please? (i.e. “if I want to…”) This turns personal wishes into community wishes that anyone can feel as theirs. Usually it also results in more neutral/generic and less subjective/specific formulation of wishes. See Writing a good feature request.
