Previewing sounds not working in REC mode while clock in on USB

Bug Description

I’m syncing the tracker with ableton live 12.
Transport is ok, but when clock in is set to USB in order to have ableton as a master clock, as soon as this is turned on, i can’t preview any more the sounds when i’m entering them on the pattern view in REC mode. The sounds are ok when playing or can be previewed in play mode, but not in REC mode.

Steps to Reproduce

Connect the tracker via USB to computer and check midi config in ableton (it normally activates automatically)
go to config menu in tracker and set clock in to USB
go to config menu in tracker and set transport in to USB
go to pattern view on tracker and start recording notes
previewing not working

Occurrence / Frequency

Always

Im using a Tracker Plus on firmware 1.0.3 and I have the exact same problem. I have tested it also on normal midi and the same thing happens, so it’s not just a USB midi problem. It makes integrating the tracker into a hybrid setup a real pain as live step input becomes a chore, and really devalues the tracker in a setup, as it becomes impractical and clunky to use in an extremely basic way. This report has barely, if any attention, but I really hope it gets noticed, as this is broken, and its an extremely basic but essential functionality that is currently defective. I really hope this gets sorted. Please devs!!!

Thank you for your feedback. In a way I’m glad to not be the only one reporting this.
Indeed it didn’t get much attention … sadly.
In my recent works with tracker I just had to dial the tempo manually and it’s ok since transport works but as you say, it’s not practical and can lead to mistakes when changing projects and forgetting to set the tempo.

Confirmed I was able to reproduce with both MIDI Jack and USB MIDI. Transport settings do not change the outcome.

Thanks for reporting the bug @bertrand.vanasch

That’s brilliant Thanks a lot Dann, thanks for taking the steps to reproduce it. And thanks Bertrand for reporting it originally, I appreciate the effort both. Fingers crossed it gets fixed
