Play plus sample folders deleting after turning off the play

Bug Description

After starting a new project I loaded up sample packs and folders into the sample pool. I then turned off the play plus and left for awhile. When i returned and turned the play back on all of the individual folders had been deleted, The samples themselves were still loaded into the pool for this project but as one large pool instead of separate categorized folders. this happened twice in a row

Reproduction Steps

  1. Create new project
  2. Load sample packs and folders from sample packs
  3. Save project
  4. Turn off play
  5. Turn play back on at least an hour later
  6. All samples are now in one large pool without individual folders

Occurrence

Has happened twice in a row when following above steps

Found in

  • Version: 1.0.1
  • Build: 1405

Not just play+ but OG play as well.

It seems that this is caused by some bug when writing to SD card.
First i saw this happening when i tried loading samples and saw the message that i tried load more samples than ist the limit.

I tried several strategies:

  • create new project

    • Load samples as sample pack
    • samples are organised in folders
    • turn off play
    • turn it on
    • play shows only one folder

  • create new project

    • proceed as in previous situation\
    • save as the project before turning the machine off
    • turn it on
    • current workspace has all the samples in one folder
    • load the project saved before the machine was turned off
    • the project contains only one folder

The same applies when

  • loading samples just as directories
  • loading samples sample by sample and manually putting them into “folder” when loading

I am on latest play firmware.

This started happening to me too. I reinstalled the sd card content from the downloads page on a new card and am still getting the issue.

Hi @here, we believe this issue is duplicate of Sample Pool folders disappear after restart and project load Can you please confirm?
Also, have you tried formatting the cards as FAT32 and can still reproduce the problem?

This fix don’t fix nothing…… been dealing with this issue for a long time now….got 5 different cards reformatted different ways nothing works
