Mini MIDI Keyboard

Free nights and weekends have been hard to come by lately.
BUT I’ve just had a very productive weekend and looking forward to another productive holiday weekend ahead.
The labels have been printed onto all the cases(quite a bit more complicated than I had assumed), and I’m in the process of soldering in the speakers. I’m hoping to have all 50 completely assembled very soon.
Then the next step is cleaning up the firmware for a solid v1.0.
The price will be $185 and I will send out emails to the first 50 people on the email list once the web storefront is active.

  • Work on the Firmware continues next week.
  • Functionality for initial firmware release is nearly complete.
  • UI is gonna get a big overhaul!

I‘ll make sure to post some progress as we move along.

Amazing project you are doing here, I’m following it here since the beginning.

Do you know yet if it will fit on the special edition version?

Greetings Simon

I’m on the email list for a while. Hope I’m in the first 50.

It may fit mechanically, but since the aluminum shell is 3mm thinner, I’m guessing it’ll extend below the bottom a bit.

Wishing everyone on this waiting list a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year :christmas_tree:

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I had a very productive holiday and made a hard push to get everything wrapped up with the hardware and firmware and set up a storefront.

Yes the site is live, but I am still running tests to make sure everything is working.
It is set up as invite only since I only have 50 units to sell.
I plan to start sending out email invites this coming week in batches of a dozen or so.
The invites will be good for 10 days to allow people enough time to accept or decline.
If you signed up/registered before mid July 2025, you should be in the first 50.

Thanks to all of you for your patience following along this far and for all the encouragement!

I hope I enjoy it too. It actually is coming at a good time for me as I don’t always use the mini for production but I have something I am working on right now about to go from loop to song mode, so the speakers and little keyboard are going to come in handy for just sitting on the couch and arranging(As much as I love the note input mode, it can be a little annoying when working to design a sound to have to turn it off and on to use any other menu options that it hides). Should have it late Thursday so hopefully get some pics up on friday morning. I also found a glass’s case that looks like it should hold the Mini keyboard nicely when thrown into my bag pack with the tracker.

Take a look back at this post from July. An A5 binder or zipper case works pretty well as an inexpensive way to hold the tracker and KB1 assembled in a backpack.

or if you wanna be super safe, the pelican 1170 or meijia case is good too.

but if you want to keep it separate, then most of the rectangular type eyeglass cases should work great.

Thanks for the info. Yeah I may print out the holder for the binder as I have some 3d printers at work. I also have a CO2 laser cutter, hence all the eye glass cases.

wow, kudos on this project! I’m a bit late, but just signed up. i was sold once i saw it has speakers and sits flush

Got my KB1 today. Haven’t had much time to mess with it but build quality is nice. Fit to the actual tracker is very nice. Feels good in your hands and does not feel like it’s going to pop out. Speakers are OK but I am sure that is something that can be figured out in later models/revisions. Needless to say it’s going to be a very nice addition to the tracker mini and my backpack, being able to play around anywhere with a keyboard and speakers! thanks for making such a great product!
