And now you need to make a metallic edition of this ![]()
want It soooo … Release Date News?![]()
Soon™.
Quick update…
The first batch of 50 pcbs have been ordered.
I should see them in about a month, and then be able to begin assembly.
A Boon for us all!
Wow this is incredible, do you know where the link is or how I can order one of these? I’m in love! @SeanMichaelJohnston I signed up for your contact but i don’t see any pre-order or anything
@sam.clark, That’s all you need to do for now.
The pocketmidi site will be updated to a proper website and go live when the first batch of 50 is ready and I will notify everyone on the contact list as well as in this forum when that happens.
Hey
This is great!
Is it first-come first-serve basis?
Do I just sign up?
Yes & Yes.
@SeanMichaelJohnston was kind enough to send me a early version after Superbooth.
As a thank you to Sean, i’ve jumped on board and have been busy writing firmware for the keyboard and started working on a controller/settings app for it.
I’ll be posting an update - with a first look - on how that is going within the coming week. ![]()
As I’m waiting for parts to arrive, I spent some time to solve a small issue…
It’s always fun trying to find something to hold the Tracker Mini + KB1 safely when I’m out running around. It turns out that an A5 binder is the perfect size, so I designed an insert to clip into the rings and hold everything together. Anyone can download and print the .stl file or send it to your favorite online print service, then pop it into any old(or new) binder. I also added a split version (1a & 1b) for people like myself with small printers(you can see the seam in the pics). It’s up on the github in the hardware folder - GitHub - PocketMidi/KB1: A pocket size midi keyboard controller with speakers for the Polyend Tracker Mini (2023).
Soooo excited about this!
Quick update…
The PCBs have been soldered.
I have all the MJF ( HP Multi Jet Fusion 3D Printing Technology | HP® Official Site ) printed case shell parts.
I am in the process of 3d printing over 1,000 keys & buttons on an SLA resin printer.
Thanks for all for your patience! Please remember, all of the building and assembly is being done by myself.
And also the incredibly talented Sandroid is continuing the work on the firmware and web based software interface.
Patience pays off!!! Thank you Sean!
Amazing project! ![]()
This is such a cool project, big respect for making it happen and also to @Sandroid for supporting it and really chipping in. Allround commendable, I wish other devs like Elektron were actively in touch with their community like this.
No units are sold yet, right? Looking forward to buy one when pos!
Hi Sean, any updates?
Free nights and weekends have been hard to come by lately.
BUT I’ve just had a very productive weekend and looking forward to another productive holiday weekend ahead.
The labels have been printed onto all the cases(quite a bit more complicated than I had assumed), and I’m in the process of soldering in the speakers. I’m hoping to have all 50 completely assembled very soon.
Then the next step is cleaning up the firmware for a solid v1.0.
The price will be $185 and I will send out emails to the first 50 people on the email list once the web storefront is active.
