I’m attempted to use an external sequencer with synth, but it seems to not be able to handle incoming midi notes. Within a minute of use notes hang random notes are played then it freezes on a sound, sometimes needing to turn off. Then afterwards it does not work at all, then after much fiddling after attempt 3 or 4 it might come back to life for a moment only to repeat the same issue.
The external sequencer I’m using it Elektron Tonverk which has no issue sequencing my other synth. If I plug in a midi keyboard it seems to work ok for a moment but soon a note will hang then it will just stop work.
I’m on the new version 2.0 but I was having this issue just the day before on the previous version, it actually seems worse now.
Basically it seems unusable with external midi / sequencer, I wondering if anyone has got it working in this way?
I’m doing midi over jack with hardware, is so buggy I can’t even use it.
Thanks for the feedback, I’m trying it now with usb and it appears to be working ok, however immediately a different issue arised, I moved the filter freak and it suddenly go jammed in a position and can’t be changed needed to turn off / on to fix.
try flashing the firmware fresh (maybe even via emergency flash - Can you explain how I do this? Not sure what you mean
Are you using the stock SD card? I’ve had 3 devices now that I thought were completely hopeless but it ended up being a bad stock SD card (Play OG, Hermod+, Bitbox). The Hermod was the most recent, and most unexpected, because I had just sent back a unit that basically had a seizure, then after the seizure, only 2 output jacks worked semi normal, but they were multed and summed at all of the other jacks. At some point I ended up putting the same stock SD card into the replacement Hermod and the device would not boot. The screen just looked like 90’s TV static. I got a new quality SD card, flashed the firmware, and now my Hermod+ works like a charm. The stock Polyend SD cards are kind of junk (no offense Polyend, I love you). I have a feeling gear manufacturers just get the cheapest SD cards available with the assumption they will be replaced with a larger capacity, quality card, because lord knows we all have a sample library with over a year of audio.
Sounds like the same problem I have. Midi input and output is on same channel. If you have midi output from SYNTH connected to midihub which is also connected to SYNTH input, midi loop messes up everything. Both input and output of uses same midi channel. Changing filter cutoff will send midi CC and it comes back to SYNTH through loop and messes up controls on SYNTH. Same happens to every control that has midi CC.
They should update SYNTH to have separate channel for each midi input and output. Also possibility to turn those off when needed. At the moment most of the time I have midi output cable disconnected in SYNTH to fix this, but I consider it as bug in software design.
