Different midi channels for input and output per track is needed

My setup: Keyboard, sequencer and SYNTH sending midiout. All shared with midi-hub to 5 external devices including back to SYNTH. Couple problems.

Midi feedback loop in SYNTH. Even changing ADSR or filter values becomes impossible as change is sent to midi and feed back to SYNTH on same channel. SYNTH sends and listens same channel.

Using SYNTH as midi arp or harmonizer with external sequencer for external devices is impossible as arp and orginal notes from sequencer are sent on same channel and all are played by external device and feed back to SYNTH.

Different midi input and output channels would brake the feedback loop and would open up possibilitys to different uses of SYNTH.

Why would you set it up this way so that its own midi comes back? Shouldn’t you filter that out at the hub/wherever you are doing midi routing? Maybe I’m not quite understanding the set up.

I’m doing what I think might be similar, in that a synth in my setup can send midi to a sequence that’s then played back on that synth.

You can get this regardless of if they give you an in/out because there are many other synths that also do not offer a split channel route like this. Even if the polyend gods implement this, you’ll have this issue with other kit for certain .

I connect everything with Loopypro or AUM on iPad which both have decent routing schemes. I’ve also used some hardware midi hubs that let you route/intercept/transform midi messages which also worked for me. Look at CME products.

I need this as well. Most of my MIDI capable devices allow to set MIDI Rx and Tx channels separately (or default to something like Tx channel = Rx channel +1) and I was quite amazed when I found out that Synth only allows the same channel as both in and out. Especially that it works as quite a decent MIDI controller on top of being a synth.

I have dawless setup. No USB. Limited possibilities on midi routing. one 3in-3out hub for inputs and one 1in-5out to share midi to synthesizers.

I could use filter in the midihub so that output of SYNTH is not forwarded to input of SYNTH. However that is only answer to one of my problems.
I can’t use SYNTH arp, sequencer or harmonizer, launched by POLYEND PLAY as midi sequencer, to control another midi synth. Because input and output uses same channel both the PLAY and SYNTH sends midi to midihub and target synthesizer on same channel. This messes up the sequence. I can’t filter these as it would constant changes in midihub filters every time I want to try different synth for some of the tracks.

Midi output on SYNTH is not midi Through. I can’t send sequence from PLAY through SYNTH to midihub either.
