Name of topic speaks for itself
The answer is: no
Sad to hear. Tracker keeps getting worse and worse
Because of the 4 extra midi tracks!?
You literally can ignore them and the only place you see them, is in the song mode.
And even there they did not affect any of the existing functionality.
You can make some people happy some of the time, but can’t make everyone happy all of the time
You can downgrade
I’d advice against getting the Tracker+ then… it’s twice as “bad”!
Also in pattern mode, thats what bother me. They are always after 8th track
ocd?
Yeah, they finally made it stereo after years. At first they said that mono was their idea, their credo, that they want it to be like in 90s but then we finally found out that they can, but didnt want to.
What is there to talk about: they don’t fix the chorus and spent about a year fixing the equalizer.
I like UI being compact, stylish and without excessive elements. Maybe ocd, idk
Hey, I was just about to open a wish feature for that, but instead discovered this post.
Yes I think is a bit OCD, but Tracker is born with 8 tracks, and everything is alchemically dosed to work with that layout.
Yeah, I think the additional 4 midi tracks is great as a feature request, but I think any “advanced” or “additional” thing should be toggled in case “someone” just doesn’t use it and messes with the visual workflow of the UI.
Maybe the best way is in the config page to just hide the 4 extra tracks, maybe per project, so we can produce with just the OG 8 tracks, or have those extra tracks for experimenting with other gear.
I don’t know if it’s better to “hide” the tracks or “disable” them from the project altogether, that should be discussed by the devs.
Anyway, just my two cents… hoping for some feedback from devs.
I encourage one of you to create a wish
Another interesting view or perspective, instead of only removing a few midi-channels. what about changing the default project teamplate, so you only start with example 4 visible Channels and then you can add the extra tracks one by one?
Similar to how many daws actually works…,example on Ableton Live you also start a blank project with 4 visible tracks and not 1024 tracks…
Sometimes is more not better nor desired,it can even lead to confusing.
Love this idea!
