I’ve been seeing a lot of new polyend products for a while now, but no follow-up on existing equipment. Are you planning to maintain and continue adding new features as requested for some time on the tracker+?
It’s a pity that little follow-up is done on the hardware. This has led me to stop buying polyend equipment because of this.
It’s a real shame.
oh you didnt you read the “its coming” post on a forum from 3 months ago?
when was the last update again?
I dont really expect any new features or anything on the wishlist even, I have given up at this point. What I would like to see is them just fixing the bugs so I can have basic functionality and stability which really is the bare minimum.
Its honestly insane that I paid $800+ for this thing and I still cant properly use it because its totally bugged out.
Its also really crazy to see people swarm in defending this unacceptable behavior from the company on reddit, suspicious even… the last update for it was when? October of last year or something? and its still riddled with bugs..
I remember on this very forum one of the devs said they were going to start giving us weekly updates in regards to the progress of their team with bugs. THEY NEVER DID!!!
but you know what they DID do? Keep releasing new hardware!!
95% of the time I feel I have made peace with my decision to buy the tracker+ and just have it collect dust ( well the plastic case i paid $70 to cover it with). But once in a while I see one of these polyend forum update emails and all I can think about is this shitty company reminding me i bought abandonware for a months rent.
Hidden for unnecessary venting / raging.
If you have issues, you can voice them in a productive manner. - @sandroid
@DK.Domino, consider this a warning. Your post is still there, as you are free to voice your critical opinion - in a productive and civil manner.
But this was not that. I have not seen you create a bug report and your statement makes it sound like the device is unusable.. which clearly is not the case for most users as they happily create songs with them and share them with the community.
So either create a bug report or add a +1 if a report exists. If there are any other issues with the device, maybe it would be good to get in contact with support in case you have a faulty device?
But calling the devices unusable in general seems like a hyperbolic statement at best and is clearly not something most users experience.
I’m a little sad that my post is going to hell, because I really regret that tracker+ isn’t being maintained with patches and new features. I love tracker+, and I’d really like it if, for example, my request to view tracker+ could be possible on a PC. I like this tool, but it’s sorely lacking in follow-up compared to other products.
And I have submitted bug reports to polyend, and I have sent out many +1’s
The device is UNUSABLE for me because it crashes all the time, and is lacking basic midi input functionality with my external midi keyboard.
I am entitled to share my opinion because I paid the price. And again I think most users know how buggy their Trackers and Play devices are, and some are willing to simply rough it out because its their only gear or they refuse to give up on their investment, or whatever reason.
Unbelievable that you would try and censor these posts, you dont even work for polyend do you? And how could you possibly speak on majority of all the people who own these machines?
I always see you, in particular, censoring and flagging users on here and reddit trying to hush people with problems. I hope you are getting something from polyend for all your hard work.
What guidelines did I break? “no criticizing the company” ?
I screenshotted all of this, including your taunting emoji laden responses for twitter and reddit and will make sure the community sees how you mods treat customers who post their valid opinions and censor them under the guise of ‘community guidelines’
That was me now😉 sorry but dont be rude. Thanks for the - i only pointed to the offical forum news.
And regarding your constant crashes. I havent experienced one crash with 1.0.3. its total usable and i in fact use it for my work daily. Bugs, yes, but far from unusable.
And this is no advertisement, but how can it be, that talented guys like @ameliagagarin and many others doing hour long live sets without a single crash?
Anyway, calm down.
I like how you are conveniently bending the truth to fit your narrative.
While i moderate, i have always done it transparently without removing content, but hiding it so users can read it, if they want to - just like i‘ve done with your initial post above. Feel free to go look up my past moderation on topics like these. All the content is still there, the good the bad, the negative. I also like how you add that little snarky „i hope you get paid well for this at the end“. Nice touch.
You have? By mail? Because it definitely wasn‘t here then:
You are definitely entitled to your opinion, but even then we can request some decency and respect when voicing it. Instead of just venting frustration.
Again your statement is very hyperbolic. Implying that the device is so unusable that the users that create songs and entire albums with it must be bleeding at their fingertips to be able to create said works.
This is my entire issue with your statements, not that you are possibly unhappy with some functionality, but that you are implying that they are outright unusable.
Which is exactly why i mentioned, maybe you are dealing with a faulty device? Many users including myself are using MIDI Keyboards regularly and don‘t have that issue. So if you need help with that - happy to be of assistance.
I implore you to change your tone if you want help, or i‘ll be forced to silence you temporarily so that tempers can simmer down again.
I hope you understand where i‘m coming from and that at the end of this all i just want to help you, not fight you.
What specific thing in my post triggered you to flag it?
@Patrick Yes of course, I know you were just providing a link to the polyend teams efficient quarterly bulletin, and I am glad you are not having any errors with your gear.
But I was not saying anything indecent, or disrespectful.
I was merely speaking the truth about my situation with the device, and I have in fact, seen many other users who are very disatisfied with their devices, as well as polyends handling of updates over the past year+
It seems that I have to discuss any negative opinion or criticism of polyend with a false tone in order to relate issues or I will get flagged.
“I really love this device, but…”
“Love this community, etc..”
“Thanks so much to the hard working devs, but will…”
Do you mods or team leaders or polyend champions need me to
use chatgpt or spend my time writing fluff in between sentences?
I feel like that is a waste of everyones time. I think polyend needs to address their communication with customers and lack of updates.
I don’t need to beg to complain here, and its totally mad to see this level of moderation being used against my comments
In fact i had an hardware error that needed to be repaired and took longer then expected so i bought a second one. Daily business. Fanboy? No. Convinced? Yes.
I have not said that what you wrote was indecent or disrespectul. I hid it for just being a generalized vent/rage post about your unhappiness with the device. And i asked for decency and respect. Maybe not the right words in this case. I apologize. English is afterall not my native language.
From my viewpoint your post just appears hyperbolic, as you claim the device to be entirely unusable, but at the same time you are also ignoring any assistance offered.
For that matter, i could say the same thing: I‘ve seen many people who love the devices and have no issues with it. I was just at superbooth and all the people i talked to about the devices, loved them. Of course they all have something they want different of feature requests.
Here‘s some facts: The loudest opinions are always the negative ones. Happy users will rarely comment about how happy they are with a device. They will just use it and keep it to themselfs (or share their tunes).
Polyend has promised quarterly updates on what they are doing and so far they‘ve made good on that promise (maybe not always perfectly on time but close to it). They have promised further updates and i see no reason at the moment, not to believe them.
Now i know what you are think: „Oh the mod - talking out of his ass, can‘t trust a word he‘s saying“.
Can‘t help you with that. Either you believe it or you don‘t.
Now i‘d rather just help you, specifically with the issue that you are having - the MIDI Keyboard:
I know plenty of people who use it and have zero issues.
I personally use it all the time and have zero issues.
Everyone has something or some things they are disatisfied with, with their device. But the functionality you just refered to, must work apparently or you would see it all over Backstage ALL. THE. TIME. And yes, there was a recording issue at some point, which I personally even brought up as a bug report and kept complaining about (going through multiple iterations) until it got fixed.
So maybe.. in your case.. there is another issue here?
So once again, i offer my help to get to the bottom of this, or maybe you are dealing with a faulty device. Let‘s find out what‘s going on.
Which leaves me with this: Do you want help!? Or do you just want to complain about it and not accept any help?
I‘d rather help you and get you to enjoy the device like i do, rather than these kind of debates that waste everyones precious time.
Thanks for the thought out response. The bug is the midi data is being sent across multiple channels/tracks randomly. It is the same bug that they fixed in the last update, its a bit better but still very very unreliable, and you have to change the micro-timing settings in order for it to work. This is a very well known bug. I imagine many people just live with it. I feel like filling out another bug report on this forum would be a waste of time.
The other bugs, are well, random crashes.
I think it was last october, you might remember, some other users were complaining here, along with myself, the polyend team actually started responding and addressing us directly, and they said they would start giving us more frequent weekly or bi-weekly updates regarding the bug fixes. They stopped after like one or maybe two weeks.
I just want a very stable OS with all the basic bugs fixed.. I don’t need some additional synth or extra effects, or QoL basic functions many other sequencers have. Just want the box to be less buggy
I want polyend to see my posts, and I want other people who have problems to see it, and to criticize polyend, and I think they should spend more time/money/energy into fixing the devices they have rolled out instead of releasing even MORE ones.
Their support for their flagship devices are dismal, full stop.
They have a reputation for this online, it is known.
