Because if you have 3 pages full of patterns, you won’t know which page you are on if they all are the same brightness.
If all the patterns are filled, you still see the active pattern, as it lights up brighter. There are no problems or conflicts here. I have created a working scheme for this function. The pages should switch.
You’re not navigating through pages, you’re navigating through patterns! Just try to working with tracker with 49-96 patterns and you understand pain

i understand what the problem is. What i’m trying to explain to you is that when you want to improve this feature, you have to consider all the possible implications / use-cases.
If your song is not playing… yes, what you are suggesting would work - you could then round-robin and start at the top left again to go through the next set of 48 patterns etc etc. (I still believe a shortcut combination could be more beneficial and maybe a faster way to achieve this).

But when the track is playing, doing what you are doing, is going to instantly switch patterns, which is probably not what a user might want. So you need another solution that works during playback - which is why this wish exists.
That’s what i mean when i say in order to implement this feature completely, there are a lot more use-cases that need to be considered. Because else you’ll just add another feature that doesn’t cover all the possible cases.
It sounds unconvincing. It would be better to implement it the way I suggested, at least in terms of pattern selection, and this problem wouldn’t occur. Currently, everything beyond the 48th pattern is a blind spot. And for some reason, when I’m on the 49th pattern and press the “patterns” button, I see the first page with patterns I don’t need, and I see the working area of patterns that are not necessary for me. In my opinion, this is much worse. In any case, this remains a major flaw.
Alright. I went out of my way to make sure i can correctly explain to you what i mean.
So here’s my personal thoughts on how i think this should be implemented.

When you Press + Hold the Pattern Button, the screen changes from this:

This would cover your usecase and the use cases for other people wo want to switch to far away patterns quickly (or queuing patterns). Either during playback or when editing patterns.
And it visually shows you exactly where you are.
So far i’ve explained this for quick changing of patterns. So any change you make would immediately be activated.
Which is why Add to Queue exists. You may want to play another pattern ONLY when the currently active pattern is finished. To do this you could press the Add to Queue Button to do this.
If you use the Joghweel, you probably have to hold that button until you are at your destination. Because else you are changing the currently implemented behaviour. Unless the current behaviour is changed.
As a Shortcut User you could just hold that button before your press the pad and the pattern will be queued.
Did i think of all the possible usecases? I don’t know.

This is just my idea. What i can do, is create a wish for this that would supersede all other similar wishes (as it is probably the most thought out version so far).
