I’ve updated OG Tracker to 1.9 FW, creating new Project and resetting settings to their defaults. Now I’m always experiencing issues while playing a Song and entering Performance page. Some patterns become 2x longer. Issue is not present if I stay on Song page.
Bug Description
Steps to Reproduce
Load the attached project
Take not of the song structure:
Section A = Pattern 1/19, Section B = Pattern 2/20.
Section A is based on 64 step patterns, Section B is based on 32 step patterns.
Both sections should play 4 times
Play in song-mode and switch to performance mode (no need for any further actions)
Take note how Section B is played 8 times.
This occurs when playing from the beginning. When starting song playback from section B it will play correctly.
Hey @rockonthemoonfm, please fill out the bug reporting form completely with all the necessary data so we have everything we need to reproduce your issue.
Ideally describe the issue you have in a video, so it is easier to understand what you are trying to achieve. If you got a project you can share with us, where this issue arises even better.
I can confirm the same issue. While playing the whole song and beeing in the performance mode, the arrangement gets messed up. Dont had time to reproduce, but it happend constantly while using the pattern play mode fx as i remember.
It happens to me too since firmware 1.9. When i’m switching from performance view back into pattern view all the note data is gone, like erased, leaving me with a blanc pattern. When i then push “undo” everything is back. It scared me at first but it did not bother me enough to write a bug report.
Hi, sorry for the delay. So… I’ve updated Tracker to 1.9.1. While system performance and responsiveness is back to normal (1.9 hogged cpu), Song mode + Performance view bug is still there. It happens every time, at least in my last 2 projects. When it reaches a certain pattern, it starts playing it - I think - 2x its length. Steps to reproduce it come down to:
play Song
enter Perform mode
That’s all. Don’t need to select nor interact with any button. If I play Song and stay in Song mode, playback is correct.
there’s another bug that scrambles tracks in patterns when mixing them in Performance mode, but I’ll file a new ticket if I eventually could track it down
Hey @merlin can you do me a favor and create a bug report for this with reproducable steps and at best either with a video and/or a simple project that replicates this behaviour. that would be super helpful!
Thx for the project, i’ve loaded it up on my Tracker (running 1.9.1 Build 1138).
(i’ve noticed you didn’t specifiy which build in your report, but i’m assuming it 1138 as well?)
But i’m not sure i understand your reproduction steps.
Either something is missing in them for me, to clearly reproduce the issue that you are seeing / hearing.
What i do see though is:
Pattern 1 is 64 steps
all the other patterns are 32 steps.
When mixing patterns in perform mode, i think the current behaviour is that the pattern that you are trying to switch, will play all the way through. Which can lead to a shorter pattern being repeated.
But this would be expected behaviour.
I’ve created a simple test project, where you can cleary hear that distinction: test-perf.zip (275.8 KB)
If that’s not what you mean, i thank you in advance for clarifying
yes, it’s 1138.
Ok, so I’ll try to explain better myself.
If you play Song mode, you’ll hear Pattern A 4 times, then Pattern B 4 times, then Pattern A 4 times again, and so on. Correct.
If you play Song mode and switch to Performance mode, without doing anything more, Pattern A will play 4 times, Pattern B will play 8 times (here’s the bug!), then Pattern A 4 times again, and so on.
@rockonthemoonfm Thank you for reporting this bug. We are sorry you’re experiencing issues while using the Tracker. We will do our best to resolve it and notify you when it’s ready.
