Song playback incorrect when entering Performance Mode

Hi, the problem also exists on Tracker+ firmware 1.0.3. Please help.

I am not sure if this is exactly the same root cause, but here is another project with playback issues when entering performance mode. The arrangement starts with pattern 5, which is a 16 step pattern with a reverse cymbal, and then moves into pattern 1, which is a 128 step drum beat.

If you switch from song mode into performance mode during pattern 5 you’ll find that pattern 1 gets truncated down to 16 steps, but also you’ll hear the reverse symbol in there even though its not in the pattern at all.

If you switch from song mode into performance mode during pattern 1, you’ll find that pattern 5 is played 8 times when playback loops back to the start of the arrangement.

issue encountered on tracker+ 1.0.3, but i’d be curious to hear if it affects anyone with the OG tracker.

i’ve been playing live sets with the tracker as my centerpiece (and even once on it exclusively) lately and this bug comes up every time i try to use performance mode. i’m glad that there is a way around it as long as all your patterns are the same length but that’s not always a good option.

I noticed similar behaviour in Perfomance mode. One other thing - it kinda shows that playing next pattern on screen top info line, but actually continue playing previous one.
One other thing I noticed. for some reason if I play song from beginning and than enter Prefomance mode in middle of song the Step repeat behaviour differs than if I play from current or previous pattern where I going to apply it. I noticed it cause if I play from beggining of song it applies Step repeat to crash which is on the END of pattern, kinda reads it previously) which doesnt happens when I start play directly from this pattern or previous. weird)

I’ve also noticed this happening.
Play Song in Song mode, switch to Perform ready to jam out, but the 16 step pattern repeats unexpectedly.

There are a couple things I noticed that I’d like to add to this bug report. If you need me to file a different bug, please let me know!

When changing song playback from within Performance Mode, these changes aren’t always displayed correctly on Song Mode. Here are a couple examples, sorry for the low quality videos, I’m allowed to upload 5MB max.

When changing playback mode in Performance Mode from looped playback to song playback, and then switching to Song Mode, the sequence (rightmost column) is still displaying the loop icon but the song does advance to the next pattern. The correct icon is shown on top.

When changing playback in Performance Mode from song playback to looped playback and again to song playback, and then switching to Song Mode, the icon and progress bar have disappeared altogether. The correct icon is shown on top, and the song does advance to the next pattern, after which the icon and progress bar reappear.

So up until now, the icon on top is always showing the correct status. But the real kicker is this one:

When changing playback in Performance Mode, switching to Song Mode, back to Performance Mode, change playback again, and then go back to Song Mode, the icon on top doesn’t correctly reflect what the sequence is doing. In the example above, the song play icon :play_button: is displayed, but the sequence loops back, after which the icon on top changes.

You might think this convoluted scenario won’t often happen, but when jamming in Performance Mode while a song is playing, you’re changing between screens and playback type all the time. And especially this last example is the most problematic, because you correctly switched to song playback, this is reflected by the :play_button: icon on both Performance Mode and Song Mode, but still the song loops back.
