Smooth Step Transitions for Morphing Textures

What is the problem?

MESS currently excels at creating glitchy, jumpy, stutter and stagger effects, but transitions between steps are abrupt. This limits its ability to create smooth, continuously evolving textures.

What should this feature achieve?

Allow smooth transitions between consecutive steps, either by morphing the volume between each steps or by value.

The transition should offer selectable shapes such as ramp up, ramp down, smooth curve, and the current abrupt/rectangle behavior. This would allow different transition behaviors to be combined within the same sequence.

Are there any workarounds?

Nothing that I know.
