Another Mini tune … this time (a kind of) breakbeat with lots of melodies…

I wish there was better way to live perform on Mini, current performance page doesn’t fit my method of live jamming at all, so again here i just did hit play and let song play

I think using the performance page requires a lot of planning, but it’s pretty useable as long as your track can benefit from a certain type of “punch-in” style FX. I will fill it with parameters (usually synth macros) at 0, 30, 70, 100 and try to punch in variations rhythmically. I usually put a few delay sends for certain tracks on there as well. I haven’t really gotten the hang of using the beat repeat but that also seems like a worthwhile one.

i missed word “my” in what i wrote (edited post)… definitely didn’t mean it to sound like it is generally not useable, it just doesn’t fit my personal idea / method of how i approach live sets … i tried adopt here but it just doesn’t click with me. I love other parts of Tracker really a lot, so i accepted that Mini is for me more like composition than live performance tool, and i am ok with that

Hi,im RAiNER. I’ve been a tracker nerd since the 90s (Scream Tracker, Impulse Tracker and now Schism Tracker and Polyend Tracker) and just wanted to share my last track, made with the OG Polyend Tracker.

Here’s a little ambient track. It’s very simple and is the first thing I made on the Tracker+ upon it arriving on my doorstep. I’m so excited to keep exploring this thing.

Not sure why the embedded player’s not showing up up there…so here’s a link to it.

Hi gang,

This one is made entirely on the mini, some glitchy house action

Here’s a real LCD Soundsystem-esque track I cranked out on the Play+. It’s a fun, blistering love note to 2000s indie dance.

That’s a great vibe! Way to tease with the acid bass sound.

Thanks! I had another run with the preset today. It’s fun to perform. Just gotta lock down some better structure. “Songwriting” is harder than loop-making.

You can say that again!

Track made with the Tracker Mini. It’s called We Make A Sound Bomb

Oh hell yeah! This is such an impressive composition coming out of such a tiny machine. Massive.

Thanks so much. I have to say that of all the music gear I own, or have bought and sold in the past, the Tracker Mini is one of the best devices. Especially for making music anywhere.

Thanks again for your comment :+1:

Gee thats dope … :loud_sound::loud_sound::loud_sound:

Did that glitched sound come from one of the synth engines… Macros?

Also are all the drums except the 909 OHH (lovely control on the sustain and feel btw) from perc? Assuming you sampled the 808sub.(As its reversed occasionally)

And that wha like sound seems to have poly metric or random like patter/ modulation… is that through macros or resampling/chopping?

Really great attention to details and use of stepFX … just going to go out on and under a limbo and say …you most likely didn’t start doing this yesterday :smirk::sunglasses:

Really really nice vibe/groove, hypnotic, cinematic, great arrangement and sound design /part selection… simply superb!!! :kissing_heart: :clap:

Hey, thanks very much, that means a lot to me

808 sub - correct
909 ohh - correct
808 snare also later, pitched down

the modulation on the whaaa sound - it’s just wavetable modulation via envelope
unless you mean the percussion - it’s a sound of my e-cigarette scrubbing the mic on the mini, chopped to melodic slices with slices automated and random fx value added. since the whole sample is really chaotic it makes for a nice pararandom section

I used minimoog samples from legowelts website for the glitchy acid line and a lot of single cycle waveforms I got from https://waveeditonline.com - highly recommended, just feed them into the machine and you’re lost for hours. there are some gems right there, and they’re free.

Also VAP and WTFM are in use - I tended to presets on this one , “Space Opera” on WTFM and “Humble Pad” on VAP - they come in near the end of the track .
Perc wasn’t used in this track

It started as a loop from a main section and then I just copied the pattern, removed and altered sections slowly building the tune up. The track was made in ca 2 hours, just went with the flow.

Again, it’s really nice what you wrote right there. thank you very much

I’m uploading something else in a few minutes, made with mostly wavetables on T+, stay tuned
