Samples not able to be linked to project tempo, resulting in out of time loops when project tempo changes.
What is the problem?
Samples and loops not able to be linked to project tempo, resulting in, for example, drum loop going out of time when project tempo changes.
What do you want to achieve?
Some kind of function to link sample stretching to tempo changes, so that the sample stretches or repitches to match the tempo. Perhaps with a selection of stretching algorithms/ kinds like “re-pitch”, “granular”, “monophonic” etc.
I’m aware that the tracker may not have the processing power to handle this kind of function.
Are there any workarounds?
Not that I’m aware of. Would love to hear if anyone have achieved this.
Any links to related discussions?
No
Any references to other products?
The sampling engines in FL studio, and Ableton are very useful and some of the functionality and flexibility of these (within reason) could be very useful in the tracker.
Hey @jack.eden, there is already an effort / wish for something similar that could be helpful:
Would this be something that would suffice for your needs? If so, please vote on it or let me know if you would like to proceed with your request.
Based on previous statements by Poylend, we are already scrapping at the limits of the trackers processing powers… so i have my doubts that we are going to see realtime pitchshifting / stretching on the tracker,. But if you want to see if the community would support such a wish, we can of course proceed
@Sandroid I understand. I thought that would be the case with processing power. That pitch shifting calculator would be a good work around. I’ll vote on it.
