Running more than 6 Granular voices can lead to lag/crash

Bug Description

When using more than 6 granular voices at the same time, the Tracker will become unresponsive and can even crash. This was not the case in Pre 1.9 versions.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Load the attached project
  2. Mute Track 6, 7 and 8
  3. Play the Track
  4. Everything should work normally
  5. Unmute Track 6 - notice some UI slowdowns already
  6. Unmute Track 7 - most likely UI starts to freeze
  7. Unmute Track 8 - most likely you won’t make it this far :joy:

Occurrence / Frequency

Original message:

After updating to version 1.9 this song renders the tracker nearly unplayable between crackle and slow down on the device that was not present in 1.6

Secondary bug (please post a separate bug report)

Edit: Start/Stop to reset Reverb and Delay tails missing in 1.9

Hey Friend!

Woah this is crazy :exploding_head: Thanks for sharing the project!
I figured it might be the Delay or the Reverb itself, but it isn’t.

Looks to me like you are pushing the Granular to its limits :joy:

That 7th and 8th track are a bit too much for the ol’ boy.

  • If you mute track 6,7 and 8 you’ll notice it becomes fluid again.
  • Once you active track 6, it start to jitter and with track 7 things get out of hands :joy:

I’ve noticed you created one bug report for two issues.
Could you do me a favor and open a separate one for the Tails killing? Thank you

I’ll update this current bug report with my findings.

Hi @liminaleris Thank you for reporting this bug. We are sorry you’re experiencing issues while using the Tracker. We will do our best to resolve it and notify you when it’s ready.

Is this also such CPU related thing, like people mentioned with the Synth and the engines there?
