Record performance mode as pattern

ths may have been covered already if so i couldn’t find it. is there no way record in performance mode as a pattern? as far as i can tell there is no way to “live record” in “performance mode” and then recall that performance as a pattern other than recording on an external device if this is the case will such an action be available on a future update

unfortunetely such feature was declined, even though it would make the device a banger:

What is the problem? You can do crazy stuff with the Perform mode, but you cannot record it as an automation (and do more crazy stuff on top?). What do you want to achieve? Have some sort of automation lanes for those beautiful performance pads. Preferably, those lanes should be bound to the perform pads themselves, but not the settings these pads adjust, because they may become editable later and it would be a bit more flexible option for player. I thought it’s possible when I upgraded from little PO-33 that allows to record any fxs in realtime, but it wasn’t the case despite the huge gap in their pricetags.

What is the problem? Perform mode is very capable when you can play with your fingers, but what if you have other gear you need to play as well? What is the problem? Sometimes you just mess with the Perform mode and find that sound that you want to have in your next progression’s step/pattern, but you can’t have it right away.
