Record MIDI CC Into FX1/FX2 Values

Inputting notes over MIDI in has always been possible - punching them in one-by-one or with live record. However, there isn’t a way to do this for FX1/FX2 values (except for Velocity and Microtiming).

What do you want to achieve?

A method for the user to input FX1/FX2 values via MIDI. For example, the user could enter FX/FX2 mode in the pattern editor, hit record, then send a value to a CC number to the global MIDI CC In channel from a controller, and the value gets entered into the current step. During live record, any value received could be set to the current step of the track. This would be useful for creating automation for filters, sends, MIDI CC out, etc.

Are there any workarounds?

This can be emulated with the ‘fill’ function.

Not entirely - the closest topics made no mention of entering the values into FX1/FX2.
