POLYEND PLAY control via an external midi controller

POLYEND PLAY is very lacking in midi implementation. The addition of CC message management from an external midi device to the firmware has significantly advanced the functionality of POLYEND PLAY. I’m surprised that no one has requested this obvious option yet.

Dear developer, please add a midi implementation. That’s all I’m asking. I’m even willing to put up with the problem of clock synchronization over a USB connection. But the midi implementation is very lacking.

Hi @iprikoloff welcome to backstage. Hope the holidays are treating you well.

You’re not alone. There is a Feature request related to this. You can also see from the original post a bunch of links related to the subject. Until then it’s :crossed_fingers:

You’re absolutely right. I was referring specifically to the possibility of modulating the Play parameters using MIDI data generated by a DAW or external instruments and controllers. This will allow the use of external LFO and other types of modulation.

The midi implementation is available on all hardware devices that work with midi data in one way or another. Play can transmit midi data, but only accept sheet music. It is not entirely clear why it is impossible to specify in the code the binding of Play controls to CC messages. A year ago, I wrote an appeal to support about this, to which I received a response that it might appear in the future. That’s why I’ve been hoping for this all along.
