hi all late to the party so i definitely missed any answers to my questions but i just cant find anywhere .
anyone could tell if the usb audio from topic devices can send separate audio channels to daws in windows (ableton/bitwig in my case)
those daws will not show any other inputs then my interface(rme ucx ii) but windows shows those devices as 28 channel 32bit 44.1 inputs so they’re present and active in windows 11
i can also listen to them selecting my default interface out so the audio definitely going through the usb connection
im not interested in asio4all solutions and i would like to find out what im missing
Hey there @djvtek, welcome to Backstage
Since you are running on windows, you’ll have to use a 3rd party software to create an aggregate device. Windows sucks in the manner as it can only have one audio device active at the same time.
Fear not, our mighty @Sandroid has an excellent guide you can either read though or watch the video. Need to set it up once and then forget about it. You can find it at the link below.
Hope that helps!
thanks for responding ive decided to move from windows for music production but still having problems getting sound from my devices . so under audio settings on mac ive created aggregate devices . rme ucxII tracker +play + mini tracker it shows all I/O some ridiculous amount in bitwig but i cant get any input sound enabling record in tracks choosing corresponding input channels all devices are set to usb audio except play+ there is no such option
any help would be appreciated
Not sure about this… I’ve been able to use my tracker mini with my focusrite interface as an aggregate device on my macbook. Do they work correctly when not using aggregate devices? I.e. just use the interface or just the tracker, etc. one at a time.
Well there is confusion for me at least as far the devices go for instance under your device next to minus you have settings and it’s for use the device as input / output or listen through and when you enable input the other devices loosing the ability to send their audio and I’m not sure if you just have to switch manually to every device you want to use or I’m just not familiar to some settings that allowing multiple devices to send signal without switching your aggregate devices in daw .
I was able to have my audio sent to daw before I’ve installed all RME drivers without any aggregate devices but after instal that option just sh… t to bed no clue what happened .
In their total mix software I’ve checked every possible option without success . I will try use the Mac core audio today and see it the interface it’s the issue
You can only have one USB input device at a time unless you create an aggregate device on the mac.
I’m a bit confused by your response. You shouldn’t need to change any settings once the aggregate device is set up: Create an Aggregate Device to combine multiple audio devices – Apple Support (UK)
In your DAW make sure you’ve selected the aggregate device as your audio interface and arm the tracks for recording. I’m not familiar with bitwig but I’ve tried this in reaper and ableton and it’s worked for me.
Yeah it was bit confusing but I got this sorted out simply enabling bitwig to receive microphone signal I didn’t have the checked and now works like a charm . The only thing I encountered was play + stuttering audio every few seconds it was connected to hub with 5 gbit port I’ve changed to 10 Gbit and it’s fine now . Tracker+ or mini seemed to work on 5 Gbit ports . If anybody interested I will give info of confirmed hubs that work 100% but I’m in process of testing few of them . Thanks guys for responses!
not Gbit but Gbps sorry i concluded my hub research basically comes down to usb ports doesnt really matter what brand you go with and i had issues using 3.0 but 3.1 and above worked fine so make sure u connect to 10Gbps ports . if you want to use your Polyend supplied cable and in case of mac mini not having A type use usb-c to A conversion dongle with the same transfer ratings . my hubs are 4URPC(172$ amazon )and belkin 4 port usb-c (44$ bestbuy)
