Pitch detection for sample mapping

What is the problem?

I often have to use an external tuner to detect which note I have sampled, which is not always an option.

What do you want to achieve?

To be able to play a C on the keyboard and have it always generate a C on my samples instrument.

Are there any workarounds?

External tuners I suppose?

Many samplers have this option built in. It is a handy one!

What is the problem? Tuning samples is currently a by ear thing only and may not be as accurate as one may hope. Some users may even use external tools to tune their samples. What do you want to achieve? It would be useful to have some sort of visual feedback for the purpose of determining the pitch of samples. A chromatic Tuner for example.
