It would be nice to be able to pick a name and folder location for exports.
What is the problem?
In a workflow with a lot of resampling – in order to create new instruments from multiple samples, record chords in order to only occupy a single track, record drumloops, etc – the current way the export works leaves you in some unfortunate situations:
- Every time you export something, a new folder is created with an auto generated name (based on pattern number, IIRC) and a single file inside it: export.wav. Reusing a single pattern as a temporary workspace for this, you end up with a lot of folders with almost identical names, except for an incrementing number.
- When importing the exported files into your project, you end up with a lot of samples called “export.wav”, which make it impossible to distinguish them without listening to them first.
What do you want to achieve?
Better organisation and overview of the exported files.
Are there any workarounds?
Only by going via a computer and clean up the mess.

Haven’t found any.

I believe the Digitakt allows you to at least name your recorded samples (I don’t remember if it also allows you to pick a folder).
