Synth Engine Development Possibilities: an exploration of past and future synthesis and what is possible for Synth Engines development (Sorry to give you more work Dev Team, you guys rock btw )

Exploring historic synthesis techniques and how they might be implemented within Synth
Not sure, as I don’t know the hardware limitation or how far the Polyend would be able to push it.
But I would rather prefer to have a few delicate good working/designed Synth Engines with focus on their sound design and options to discuss how you can reach a certain sound with the community, than 30+ sound-engines, that are half working, based on end-users top 30 home-computer synthesizer/plugin wishes and see a forum being filled with complain and bug reports.
The engines in it now are cool and can be used for a long time. Maybe another engine or two would be nice but I rather have more voices. 12 voices at the least and 16 at the most. Makes more sense with a system using 3 synths at a time.
Roland was smart with limiting their engines for the SH-4D to only few of their own devices, but giving end-users the option to say “We can make every synth engine in the world, just file a wish” may open pandora’s box and some of these users may show or reflect negative emotions at a longer term, when their wish is not fulfilled, we already seen that with Tracker and Play, which is also still supported by Polyend.
I could imagine, that it would be a headache for the Polyend development team, if they don’t define the end design
Here for the Synth lovers and well wishers mixed with pragmatism and curiousity.
I’m open to Synth users sharing knowledge and insights about how to use existing Engines as well as reasonable “wishes” for future development; there’s so much in the 8 existing Engines already that’ll keep me deep diving for months and years yet
This wish is too broad, isn’t it? In practice it just duplicates the good discussion going on at Synth Engine Development Possibilities. I would use the wishlist to propose specific synth engines in separate wishes.
Really appreciate your passion @carousedesign, but I agree that this is just an expansion on the other topic regarding this subject. If you want to make a wish, at minimal it need to be a specific feature with obvious outcome.
I feel it would make more sense to merge this topic back to the original thread unless anyone objects.
Having had my Synth only for 2 weekends now, it’s already becoming my favorite piece of kit in my almost all-Polyend live rig.
I am a huge PERC convert on my PLAY+ & Trackers, would love to see it implemented similarly on SYNTH. Once I learned that you could tweak the sounds/kits/etc, I stopped using drum samples — unless absolutely necessary. Even then, I’d prefer to leave the Polyends as instruments and place samples on the SP404…
In my dreams, I have an all Polyend rig & workflow, after adding in my hypothetical
POLYEND MIX
which suipercedes the Roland SP404 and the Teenage Eng’g offerings by combining
All of the best effects & performance features of the PLAY perform mode
The track mixer and mix-in inputs of the trackers, just more than one, like 4?
a MIDI master & router to rule them all
the ability to save the settings like a SYNTH scene, for future performances
