Mute tracks within a pattern (in song mode)

What is the problem?

Muting tracks happen globally i.e. across all patterns and within song mode.

What should this feature achieve?

There should be an option to mute tracks per pattern. This would make it easier to quickly make variations across patterns. This should also include un/muting the same track on the same pattern but different instances within song mode. E.g. if the kick is on track 1 in pattern 1 we should be able to have pattern 1 twice in song mode with one instance muted and the other unmuted. Many EDM based genres work this way in the sense of bringing in/out instruments for the same pattern.

Are there any workarounds?

The easiest workaround is copying/pasting patterns multiple times and deleting all notes in a pattern’s track.

When editing my song, can I mute a track on a single instance of a pattern at the song level?

It would be very helpful when arranging a song to build up a pattern track by track – e.g. initially play pattern 12 with only tracks 1,2 then next time around add in 3,4, etc. Is this possible? [mute-question]

What is the problem? Currently the only way to “mute” or “disable” an individual track in song mode is to delete it from the pattern, so if users wanted to make 3 variations of the same pattern in song mode they would have to copy the pattern 3 times and delete tracks in each pattern to change them. The tracks or “blocks” are visible but cannot be changed in any way in song mode. What should this feature achieve? The ability to non destructively mute or deactivate individual tracks in a patte…

@ameliagagarin Thanks for your contribution and effort put into this wish. Unfortunately, after careful consideration (which took a long time, sorry) we decided to take design of Song mode in another direction. We are working on some workaround and improvements which might bring solution(s) to your problems, but in another way. Thanks for understanding and patience.

I honestly do not know no. I think since then, there hasn’t been any changes yet to the song mode as far as i know.
