No functions to mute individual track cells in song mode, without going to mixer page, or without creating a new pattern.
What do you want to achieve?
A function to individually mute pattern track cells in song mode. This could be achieved by having a ‘shift’ function (similar to preview track) where individual track cell is muted or disabled, represented by a crossed out track cell.
Are there any workarounds?
Yes, by creating duplicate patterns this can be achieved, but it uses up extra patterns. Also without the ability to insert blank patterns in makes project management messy. And by going to the mixer page to mute tracks, defeats the purpose of song mode.
This would allow, for example, midi control messages, such as program change messages to be active or inactive on one pattern without creating a duplicate pattern.
EDIT: An alternative workaround I’ve just thought of would be a midi effect like probability, but would reliably trigger, for example, on the 4th of every 4 repeats, or 4/4, 2/3, 1/5 etc (like the elektron conditional trigs).
Hey @jack.eden, thanks for your wish. This request has come up before. See:
All of those have been declined for now by Polyend, stating:
… we decided to take design of Song mode in another direction. We are working on some workaround and improvements …
Based on that information i’m going to close this request, as it will result in the same outcome for now. Let’s see what Polyend cooks up in the next firmware releases.
