Every recording from the line-input has glitches in them.

I try many configurations, cables…

Really boring, original sd card…

This product is not (yet) reliable…

(it’s also a mess to connect an iphone in midi…)

The most interesting functions are unusable, which is sad…
It’s going to end up in a drawer…

The two functions I bought this tracker for don’t work, and it’s also impossible to record rhythms on the fly directly with the tracker… I regret my purchase

Hi @julienchrist , please read How to report bugs Thank you

Let me try to fill up this template since I just had the same problem with my new Tracker Mini. Needless to say, this is a frustrating bug - I was looking forward to record a bunch of my presets as samples to the mini and it seems like I will have to do find a workaround for now.

Thanks for having a look! I would love to see this fixed soon. :slightly_smiling_face:

Bug Description

When recording via line in on the tracker mini, the audio records with glitches. These glitches seem to appear whenever the screen updates during the recording.

The correct behavior would be the absence of glitches.

Reproduction Steps

  1. plug in a working audio cable into a working audio source
  2. plug audio cable into line input on the tracker mini
  3. enter the sample recorder page
  4. select line in as source
  5. hit recording
  6. play something on the audio source
  7. stop recording
  8. preview recording

Occurrence

bug is reproducible always

I tested this with 3 different synths and audio cables. I also tested different volumes to make sure this is not audio clipping due to a very hot audio signal.

I did not experience the issue when recording with the microphone.

As a new user it seems I cannot upload attachments yet, but happy to supply some glitchy samples later.

I’m experiencing this bug too when the screen brightness is set to ‘high’. As @jakobg identified, it appears to be when the screen updates with the new recorded waveform.

@julienchrist see if changing to screen brightness to ‘medium’ or ‘low’ fixes your issue.

One potential fix for this in future firmware could be to automatically dim the screen when recording, maybe?

I’m having the same issue on my Mini. Not always, but often. Screen brightness doesn’t seem to matter.

I encountered the same problem. I connected my Tracker+ and Play+, but I can’t use them together because the sound on the Tracker+ Line In is coming through with clicks and glitches. I did not expect this. The Tracker can’t simultaneously play its sounds and accept sounds via Line In. I did not expect this.

Polyend is in no hurry to release an update and has accumulated quite a few bugs. :frowning:

Hi all, sorry you’re experiencing issues. This is actually a duplicate of Line In audio crackles when playback is running which seems to affect both Mini and Tracker+. I’ll close this as duplicate and let’s continue discussion in the other report. Thanks for your support!
