MIDI Note Velocity jumps to 100% when playing chords

Bug Description

When playing more than one note at a time with a MIDI keyboard, on any instrument other than the new synth/perc options, the first note will obey the current velocity, but all subsequent notes (whether concurrently in a chord or sequentially in a strum) will jump to full on 100% velocity(loudness).

Reproduction Steps

  1. on MIDI keyboard hold a single key
  2. Add another key or more
  3. Velocity( Loudness) of all notes jumps to 100%

OR

  1. on MIDI keyboard hold a chord(multiple keys)
  2. Velocity( Loudness) jumps to 100%

Occurrence

bug is reproducible always

Hi @SeanMichaelJohnston , thanks for logging a detailed bug report and sorry you’re having issues with our product. We will do our best to resolve it and notify you when it’s ready.
Additional info: Config > General > Recording options setting needs to include Velocity, and this seems to happen only in “preview” mode and not in live recording mode. Thanks for your support!

This isn’t just with a midi keyboard right? Not on the Tracker + anyway.

I get this whenever 2 pads are held at the same time.

Just noticed it also doing it on playback…

Experiencing a similar issue on Tracker+ with 1.0.3 (exactly the same as here: Note velocities are lost during polyphonic live play / preview - #5 by Dann)

The problem only seems to appear while playback is paused, so one possible workaround is to switch to an empty pattern and press play.

That was a great workaround idea. It works!
Also muting tracks while playing worked for me too.
Thanks.
