I can’t figure out how to latch a note until the next one is played. is that possible? (ie. first latched note is shut off when the next one is played on the same voice)
I don’t think it’s possible. This would be a welcomed feature however because it’s difficult to get smooth sustained chord/art changes with having to very quickly “un-latch” one note and use the shfit key to latch another.
If we could simply moved the latched note to another pad while shutting off the previous, that would be a lot better.
Wow this would be an awesome feature.
you could set the envelopes for longer sustain? thats not the same but should achive something equally
For a single voiced synth, I’d love a modern where while a note is latched, pressing another one plays that one latched instead
This is my current #1 wish list item. Should work like any standard arpeggiator’s latch mode. Would be very nice with chord mode; you wouldn’t have to hold down to chord pad, you would just be able to quickly tap a new pad to change chords.
Just out of interest - if you have a single voice synth, with one note latched, and then you latch a second note - what happens? ![]()
Coz yeah, you’d think it would stop playing the first one, and start playing the second one, coz it only has 1 voice, no?
On most mono synths you can either set the note priority to low / high / last, or they come with a default preference for one of those and you just learn to work with that. An analog synthesizer is actually in a permanent state of a latched note (the last value the oscillator was set to) and the reason you don’t hear it is that the amp envelope is closed. The virtual analog engine should follow that to accurately emulate analog.
