Has anyone tried finger-drumming using a drum machine on a daw, ideally from a 4x4 pad grid in the Synth?
Bonus points if you happen to have a LaunchPad Pro Mk3 around to compare.

Absolutely works. Have tested this with Drumlab from Native Intsruments.
There is no 4x4 layout as of yet, but you can get close enough with some of the layouts.
If the main question is, which pads are better? Then that is very subjective.
I have a Launchpad X and for me those are the best pads on the market to date, velocity- and aftertouch-wise.
Then again, this might be because i’ve gotten used to those pads and broke them in over the years. I always have a hard time adjusting to any instrument that has pads.
The same is true now for the Synth for me, but what i do like is that there are a ton of Pad senstivity settings available. So as of right now i still prefer the Launchpad X pads. But as i use them more and break them in more, i might prefer the Synth Pads? Too early to tell.
I’m wondering how much steps have the sequencer mode. And sorry if it has been asked but can you have an arp latch wit one syn and play with the other ones? Thanks!
No worries.
The pads are about the same size as novation circuit rhythm / tracks.
I have both of those and novation launchpad pro mk3 and pads on my hydrasynth explorer.
The novation pads are great and the pads on hydrasynth too. The pads on the Polyend Synth are ok but has a plastic slippery feel and a little more gummy feeling pressure wise. Still very playable though!
Wow! I found an absolutely killer feature - the Grain engine. You can upload your own sample and turn it into an instrument. It transforms practically any sound you have into a work of art. I don’t know how Polyend did it, but it’s impressive! The only thing I miss is the ability to add a Noise Generator from my own sounds on top of the main sound (noise, vinyl, nature). That would be fantastic.
It opens up possibilities for creating endless user-generated content.
That is an absolute fantastic idea that deserves a wish
I had experience working with Arturia Pigments, and the Noise Generator feature allowed for the creation of incredibly atmospheric sounds. I can’t work without it anymore! It would be perfect in a synth.
You can create it in the Macros section. Inside, you can choose from existing sounds (vinyl, noise, radio, analog, etc.) and also add your own. You can adjust how the sound should be layered (EQ, Cutoff, Stereo, length), and directly control the volume level with the macros.
That looks … .wrong
What happens when Transport In is turned off on the Play @choogaface?
I mean the Synth doesn’t really send Transport at all (or hopefully doesn’t)
I’m confused… Are you talking about pigments or polyend synth?
About Synth. ) Pigment just already have this function, and will be nice to make something like this one in Synth
I’m on the fence, but there are things that I need to know so if the developers watch this post it would be great if there is technically possible to make audio over USB in a future and if it’s possible too to implement some basic variations like random note and probability in the sequence. Thanks!
I freaking love this machine. I’ve been having so much fun with it since I got it two days ago. I love the sounds, I love how deep it can get if you wanna get deeper. I love how playful it is, should have been named “PLAY” instead of the other machine lol.
If you add some fx pedals you go crazy with this synth. Really deep sound. From perfect ambient pads to acid baselines.
It would be great to add a random patch generator (from folder). For example, select one random patch or generate all random patches for one scene. This would allow for quickly selecting sounds and discovering incredible textures.
How does the patch creation logic work for Grain? Grain uses samples.
If I create a patch with my own sample, how do I transfer it? Is one patch enough, or do I need to save both the sample and the patch?
You will have to copy the sample AND the patch. They are not combined.
So if you are trying to transfer them (or in your case you are probably working on a pack),
you must have the following structure:
/Samples/GRAIN/
← Your samples go into this folder/Patches/GRAIN/
← Your patches go into this folderThanks! Tracker create with sample instrument and need one file )
Has there been any information about how to create chord packs?
