I love that idea
I also wondered if you’d be doing Scene Palettes on the polyend site like you do for play/tracker etc.

TIP:
Play with those C1, C2, C3 combo knobs on the scenes (or make your own when making scenes). Definitely helps to change up the sound in a quick pinch!
Tap a colored grid button below the screen and then twist the combo knobs for that synth/grid.
No update yet?
Oh I did know it but never tried! Thanks for stating this! In your opinion is there a kind of format would you suggest? For example: lenght, type of sound? I don’t want to load many stuff and discover thy are nor the best option. Just to enjoy the granular to the maximun.
Polyend already did the wonderful granulator for tracker
Was playing around with the “Bladerunner” preset and constantly ran into high CPU warnings and even CPU overload.
The engine was allocated only 2 voices! And it was the only engine playing (other 2 were grain engines). So what gives. Do I have a busted unit or is this thing really so underpowered?
I’ll start a separate thread on CPU management on Monday, but the grain and pmd are the most CPU-intensive, and loading a voice will take up CPU regardless of whether you play it or not. So the grain engine is using all your power event if only 2 voices of another preset are playing.
Okay, good to know a thread like that is coming, would love to understand the limits of device better because right now I really can’t nail it down.
Does the number of voices allocated to an engine also changes what amount of CPU is allocated to that engine? As in if a PMD/grain engine is active, is there a difference how many voices it has allocated to it (even when they are not playing)?
Yes, so two voices of PMD would take up twice the CPU as one, even if only one is played. Grain is a bit different since it is paraphonic. Denisity is the most CPU-demanding part, as that controls whether you are playing back 2 grains or 128. So if you have 2 Grain synths loaded and get high CPU, I would recommend turning down density if it doesn’t affect the sound. Personally, I don’t hear much different results from 30% to 60% density.
Can the cpu issues be controlled by a software update so that the user doesn’t have to worry about it each time. I don’t like the fact that l have to see these messages of warnings and overload. This issue seems to be consistent with other users in other forums.
I don’t think seeing a warning is actually bad. In fact it’s nice to be warned that hey maybe back off a little before something goes on and to be mindful of what you’re doing etc. CPU optimization would be nice if they can do it indeed, but I’d still like the warning to be there for when that time comes. A machine can only do so much.
I picked up my Synth from my local shop today and I’m not getting any sound out of it. It’s straight out of the box, powered by the provided power supply, and only my headphones connected to the line out. Synth also came pre-installed with 1.0.1. Hitting the pads does not output any sound, nor does MIDI in. Also tried re-flashing the firmware, without any success.
I get some crackling from the line out when adjusting the volume near max, as well as another pop at about 45% volume. The internal relays are making their clicking when powering on/off.
Am I overlooking something or just unlucky? Is there a link to the 1.0.0 firmware that I could possibly try? Replacing the unit won’t be a big deal, just want to be sure before I go that route.
Thanks in advance.
That doesn’t sound right at all.
Click the main encoder by the screen and go to “synth” and check and make sure all 3 colored engines are set to LOCAL MODE: ON for internal sounds.
Wow. That did it - they were all set to local mode off. I think I set them to off when I was configuring the MIDI channel, but I could have swore that I tried both settings … guess I better read the manual.
Thanks for the help.
That is great news! Now have tons of fun
hope hotfix update with delay bug will drop soon
I totally agree, I feel a sense of stress and anxiety with that warnings…
Interesting!
