Hot swapping tracks

What is the problem?

Once a song has been written, reorganizing tracks can be cumbersome to move to other tracks that have already been populated, in an attempt to keep ideas organized with similar sounds when using performance mode.

What should this feature achieve?

The ability to select two tracks and swap their position in the track order.

Are there any workarounds?

If all tracks have been filled, and copy and pasting from the sequencer view isn’t possible, the user must first copy the variation to a blank space, then delete the original track in question. Once the track is open, copy and paste the new melody into the open track and delete the second track containing the original new melody. Then open the copied variation from the first step and copy the track within it. Paste said copy into the blank track on the original variation and erase the copied variation to maintain space.

Hi @csdixon01 I have already made a similar wish over here!

Oh sorry I didn’t see it was for the play, please ignore :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

That’s why I always place melodic sounds to tracks 1-3. Kick is always placed on track 8. Snares, claps and that kind of sounds go to track 7. Hats or similar sounds on track 6. Percussion on track 5. Atmosphers and textures on track 4. Conventions do help a lot.

Yeah, I already do this. Still doesn’t make it so I can move tracks around if I need to, without having to go through the extra steps.
