Ability to create new patterns on the Tracker in Performance mode, mixing different tracks of different patterns
What is the problem?
Tracker’s Performance mode is very powerful and allows for spontaneous creativity. However, the tracks’ mix, the effects used, and the times of the performance cannot be recorded. At most, you are left with the audio.
What do you want to achieve?
Generate new patterns by mixing different tracks in Performance mode on the Tracker.
Are there any workarounds?
Write in a piece of paper the track number and the pattern number and copy/paste each track in a new empty pattern.
@ameliagagarin I have filled the problem statement section, which was empty. Feel free to edit that text if you wish. Other than this, I think this wish is ready for review.
If i understand correctly with your sentence of “… times of the performance” it not only copies the settings of used patterns and performance effects but also the switching of them in time during the pattern.
This is quite a difference and i could imagine it to be possible to copy static settings but might be difficult to “record” them.
Would be absolutely fantastic ofcourse if that might be possible to implement.
It would also mean that a mulitude of effected patternloops could be recorded/copied to a new pattern.
Hey, I feel like the original wish is a bit difficult to understand. Could it maybe be expanded to explain it more clearly?
Is this about committing to the performance effects by “printing” them onto a pattern without having to commit to audio stems? If so, how exactly would that work? Let’s say you’ve set the sample playback backwards, lowered the filter -30 steps and randomized sequence playback. Technically that’s 3 FX slots, so how would you then “commit” this without depending on either more FX slots or copies of the instruments used (since you presumably still want to keep the original instrument for other patterns)?
Or am I misunderstanding the idea behind this wish?
Ok, so it only has to do with combing the standard sequence data from different tracks/patterns and has nothing to do with the added effects you can apply to the patterns (eg random playback, lowering notes an octave, etc)?
