OK, another question,
In pattern mode when I press ‘stop’, and then press ‘play’ again, the patern resumes from the last played step (behaving more like ‘pause’ than ‘stop’).
Is there a setting to make the default behavior of the ‘stop’ button to stop the pattern and return to step 1? (like pressing Shift+Stop I think?)
Thanks for any help!
Pressing shift+play/stop only adjusts the chaining function. A pretty simple workaround is just to press the pattern you’d like to start with before pressing the play button again. To find the patterns, just press the button on the top right that says “patterns” underneath it. Hope this helps!
It does. Actually after poking around, this function works fine. It’s only when I’m trying to slave the Play to Protools that it does not return to step one of the pattern. When MTC and transport are internal, pressing stop returns to step one.
OK, I poked around some more. I cannot get the Play to start at step one of a pattern when I press play or record in protools. It always seems to start at some random point in the pattern. When not synced to protools it always starts at step 1 when I press play.
It’s connected and set up properly as I does start and stop with the protools transport.
Some clues (maybe?):
Even though when synced to protools it does play at the correct tempo of 120bpm (although never on the grid) the display on the Play says 110bpm.
If I don’t sync it with protools and set the internal tempo on the play to 120bpm it’s playing at some other tempo as it drifts wildly with the protools click.
Hmmm, now that’s interesting. It sounds sort of similar to a bug i wrote up when syncing to the Mini, BPM under 108 does not initiate transport until the first 8 steps are played when transport is started from Tracker Mini
Though, the incorrect bpm displaying is new to me. Possibly a connectivity issue, but it’s hard to say. Are you syncing midi via TRS or USB?
I wound up double posting about this as I though it was 2 separate issues…
But anyway, I reinstalled the current firmware. That solved the erroneous BPM reading on the Play when synced to protools. The audio now seems to be better aligned with the grid as well.
However, I still need to reset the pattern on the Play by pressing Play/Stop twice in order to get it to play from step one. ThePlay is also still dropping the Audio from step one of the pattern when pressing play/record in protools. It only drops the audio the first time the pattern is played. Audio form step one is played correctly on subsequent loops.
