What is the problem?
The sample editor on the Tracker+ (and OG Tracker) is useful but lacks a lot of basic editing functionality. It should be possible to select sections of a sample, then cut, copy or delete them. Additionally, it should be possible to paste cut/copied data elsewhere in the sample.
What should this feature achieve?
The cut/copy/delete functionality could use the existing start/end range markers in conjunction with a reserved section of memory to be used as a copy buffer.
Paste functionality could work by selecting a range as normal, to replace with the copy buffer, or by placing start/end markers at the same point, to insert the copy buffer at that location.
Memory may be an issue, although a chunk of memory could be reserved at boot time for this purpose.
Are there any workarounds?
Export the sample to PC via the SD card and edit it in software before importing it back into the Tracker(/+). This works well, but breaks workflow, and wastes time that could be spent more creatively.
