Edited by Moderation-Team - @Sandroid
For the sake of transparency i’m going to post this publicly:
@cjclip - This is the second useless meme you’ve posted in this topic (1, 2).
This does not improve or advance this discussion at all.
There is a time and place where these can be fun, but i think this topic deserves to remain serious.
Please refrain from doing that or i will be forced to take action.
Where i can post memes?
You can make a new topic, where you can post related memes and jokes…
As I see the problem here isn’t the lack of constructive ideas or suggestions that would make the situation better. We can find quite a few great ideas (like changing release practices, improving communication, opensourcing, etc…) in this thread that could make things better (or at least, make users happier =] ). The discussion could easily improve or advance even with the existence of a few non constructive comments if this was a discussion between the users and Polyend.
In my opinion what would help is not polls nor more constructive users/posts but any sign of consideration by the Polyend team of the already submitted great ideas.
Just by posting on this topic/forum proves that the author is passionate enough about Polyend products to take time to channel their opinion. Even if the opinion doesn’t sound productive, it shows that there are enthusiastic people who care about these products and who would like to see things improving.
To join the hoard of sw devs here, I’m a developer too =). I created and managed opensource projects with hundreds of contributors and in my experience explicit, two-way communication always played a huge role in successful product development and user engagement - especially in the earlier stages of a product.
Personally, I’d be significantly less concerned about the present/future of my devices, if I would see effort put into improving processes by Polyend. (I’m not saying that there is no improvement in the processes, just that I don’t see it with complete radio silence).
I’d like to say thank you to everybody who took their time to share their opinion (even in form of memes =] ) to give more insights. I hope the Polyend team can find it similarly constructive and helpful. =)
Features sell. Bug fixes don’t.
As a developer, if I introduce a bug, I feel terrible and want to fix it as soon as possible. I don’t bemoan the devs at all.
This is clearly management. From priorities to lack of communication.
Exactly, I put in a lot of effort—I created a meme, searched for a funny picture, came up with text, and wanted to express my deepest emotions through meme communication. I poured my soul and emotions into it. But the moderators just deleted my meme because they deemed it unproductive.
It is likely that the problem indeed lies with the manager and their prioritization. I don’t think the programmers themselves decide what to work on and what not. The programmers, in any case, have created an excellent product, disregarding the bugs. Bugs are a natural part of software development. Even Apple experiences them with new updates. The real question is how quickly these bugs are addressed. However, we can’t find out anything because there is simply no feedback from the company.
i’m sure this must have been emotionally draining. I send you thoughts and prayers.
they are still there…
Be honest, did you not like my memes?
I did like the first one , but the second one was very low effort.
Thank you for a well written and thoughtful post. I agree with you pretty much entirely.
This is very true. Some of these ideas may not be practical or make sense from a business perspective, but that is not for us to decide.
For the most part i agree, but if we as moderators let too much shitposting go through, you just open the floodgates for trolls. Hence i’d rather nip that in the butt if i may say so.
If we as moderators sometimes get it wrong or misjudge a sentiment, know that we don’t do it out of malice, but that we are just humans as well, but have the best intentions at heart.
I appreciate and respect the members of this community a ton. You all are extremely friendly and polite for 99.9% of the times . And that statistically shows - since the inception of this forum, we’ve only banned 2 users. Based on the number of members we have, this is amazing!
So with that said - a big thank you to all of you and thank you for caring.
If y’all allow me, i will gladly compile everything meaningful from this topic and bring it to Polyends attention. I think it is clear that we all just wish for a little bit more communication and/or transparency. And i hope by bringing all the points found in this topic to their attention, we might just get what we wish for .
Cool, I might buy a Cabasa in Dark Cherry on black friday
Really nice device in a weird form factor… it’s basically a chocolate bar…
Great functionality but not really comparable to either the Tracker or Play. It’s still limited in that it is intended to work as a “notepad” on the go for ideas that you later finish in Ableton live.
It’s basically a neutered Push 3.
Also…don’t fool yourself, you can and will not work for long with Ableton lite. Sooner or later you will pay for Ableton suite…you need to add that cost on top of the Ableton Move to not fool yourself…
The Tracker on the other hand really is a stand alone workstation (imo…) and although you need an external power bank to run a tracker on the go, I’d take the Tracker every day.
it has nothing to do with this thread tho.
this thread is about the play+
Almost the same difference…
make a new thread about ableton move. it doesn’t really belong in this one.
At this point, I start to question your motivation to post on here? Make a point that Polyend devices all suck? And if so…why bother…?
I get the disappointment. But you’re last few comments are not really helping. It’s more like revenge pr0n…(sorry…).
I’m not a 100% constructive either…but I’m trying!
