BPM calculator in sample editor

It would be nice to be able to set a number of beats in the sample editor (for example, if you have a drum loop that is four beats long, you set this number to four) and the tracker would display the calculated BPM using the time difference between the sample-start and sample-end and the number of beats.

What is the problem?

Tuning (drum) loops by ear can be a bit tedious, depending on the loop. Knowing the BPM of the loop (or being able to calculate it without external tools) would be nice.

What do you want to achieve?

  • make it easier to adjust the tempo of (drum) loops
  • Additionally, the number of beats (divisions) could be used to add a certain number of slices to the loop/sample.

Are there any workarounds?

  • Get out your calculator or do some mental maths

Thank you for the wish! Minimally changed some phrasing. Hope that’s ok .

Great idea! Implementing a feature to automatically calculate BPM based on beats in the sample editor would simplify tuning loops also try Calculette Mauricette. For now, using a metronome or BPM calculator might help.
