Is there an option to record Line In via USB as a separate audio track? This is useful when using external instruments
It was a bit of a sarcastic take, but if you read between the lines it only makes sense that the one synth missing on the Play+ that is on the Tracker+ wonāt be there on the Play+, and using the grid to edit synth params only makes sense too. Itās pretty clear feedback from the Play+ has been taken into account while making the firmware for this new toy (but obviously not a guarantee)
Exciting!
Will it be possible to render synth tracks into a sample?
Yes
It absolutely canā¦ and itās darn useful!
Infact i used that exact technique in the following track to free up the synth slots again for other things:
- Used PERC for the drums and rendered them to samples
- Used WTFM for the flute that i also rendered to samples
- The Pluck was another synth (i donāt remember what i used ) that i rendered to sample.
What an amazing tune! Love it!
Well done Team Polyend.
Iām actually going to stick with the OG because Im liberated by itās less is more ideology.
The only thing I would like is stereo sample playback, but Iāve found ways around that by the good old master fx.
I wish everyone adopting the new Tracker + a great time when you eventually get one.
So until then letās all bathe in Firmware 1.8
āPercā is a very good name. Remember your history. Honor your ancestors.
Got mine ordered from my local shop. Super excited
Iāve only had my tracker for about a month, bought new so Iām not in the mood for losing money on a resale. Hopefully they are in fact boosting the track count on the original to 12, like the website implies. Iād be happy with that, wish the new one well and will likely pick one up later. Midi only is all I need for those extra tracks.
Iāll 100% get a tracker+ at some point. canāt quite afford a new piece at the moment but I will soon.
any OG tracker firmware fixes/updates coming?
Most likely updates but not in terms of synths or stereo tracks, as the hardware canāt handle that.
Bit of a strange upgrade to me personally, the only sampler updates seem to be more memory, pretty much the last thing it needed in comparison to some software updates that are needed, again for me personally that is.
I am an original tracker from the old days and through to Renoise, and for me, again me personally, a tracker upgrades should always be focused on the sample engine.
Add to that weird things like USB audio support, but only mentions recording multiple outs to a computer, no disrespect meant here, but it needs multi outs to an analogue desk, which means support for USB interfaces, I mean whats the point involving a PC, just use Renoise, it blows the tracker+ away if you are going to be using a computer.
I know Iām not the core customer here, I donāt make glitchy stuff, so my thoughts are not that important really, but that said, a + for me had to have 16 tracks of samples, multi sample instruments and optimally an open format effect API for the sample editor destructive effects.
But good luck anyway, I am sure at some point I may upgrade, but there is not much calling me right now.
will it be possible to listen to a pattern while recording a sample?
One might be into trackers but not click with Renoise, I certainly didnāt.
Maybe one wants to record jams stem-wise for later processing/arranging.
Thank you so much for not only focusing on bells and whistles, but also spending some time on quality of life improvements. Iām hoping this will come to the Plays as well
Looks great but not buying one unless you do a special edition (silver, Legowelt, Pete Cannon) etc. Pretty please!
It looks great!
I have a question, and I havenāt found an answer yet on the forum:
Can projects created with the Tracker be used with the Tracker+?
Thanks and well done!
