Why is there no possibility to manipulative edit (FX) a sample in recording mode?

There is a Crop function, but I miss the Fade in / Fade out function. This is the most essential feature. Normalize would also be useful. There is no way to save the sample in the desired form after recording. It turns out that I have to save a “draft version” of the sample first, upload it to an editor, and then save it again.

What do you think about this?

Hello, the Fade in / Fade out function can be found, if you scroll to the bottum of your list on the “Sample editor”.

I understand, but why can’t I immediately edit the recorded sample before saving?

If you have suggestions for improvements to the workflow, why don’t you create a wish for it?

Perhaps I don’t know something, so before doing this it’s better to ask and discuss the problem with someone.

The sample editor is destructive to the sample within the instrument only, but if you do an undesired sample edit, then you can re-load/import the core sample to the instrument, as these edits are only applied within the instrument [.PTI] and not to the core sample.

You have the ability to preview the sample before you apply the effect.

From this point of view, it sounds reasonable. Thanks for your feedback.

You are welcome, if you want to do these things in a more “hair-pulling manner”, then you can use the track editor with FX options as your sample editor too followed by sample render.

Example:

Fade in/out = use the volume FX aka V

Crop = Position in sample / wave [I have not used this myself yet, but it could work at least for the start point] followed by [OFF] or [CUT] command to set the end of the playback aka P

There is not a command for Normalize, as I could imagine that it would be a very hard on the CPU.
