White parameters on any preset / synth engine due to the C1, C2, C3 knobs

Bug Description

This white line bug can be reproduced by just turning your C1, C2, C3 knobs real fast between them and then you’ll find one or more parameters turn white on any of your synth page. So be sure to check every page to the synth you’re on, for example adsr page, sample page, lfo page, filter page and I guarantee you’ll find a white line or more then one!

This happens on any patch or scene or sample or synth engine etc.. The only way to get rid of it is by changing your scene, patch, sample, synth engine and/or going back to the one you were on to reset the color until you do the C1, C2, C3 thing real fast again and they show back up.

Steps to Reproduce

See above!

Occurrence / Frequency

Always

Found in Firmware

  • Version: Synth_v1.3.0.1842beta
  • Build: 1842

WEIRD… I turned machine back on and the white line is now gone?

I’ll write back if it appears again.

Ok i found the bug and can reproduce it every single time! @Mitch

I edited my original post as well with my findings.

It’s not specific to any patch, color, scene, sample or synth engine etc.

These are just pics of it happening in the DWA synth engine, but I tested in other synth engines and it’s doing it as well!

Thanks for the report. Loading up the Synth now

From the screenshots you attached (thanks!!), the parameters that are in white; any chance that these are parameters targeted from the marcos (C1, C2, C3)?

To me it seems you may be onto something. I kept doing it over and over just now to the same preset and each time it would turn white on the same paramaters by twisting the C1, C2, C3 knobs really fast. So this may have something to do with the targets the C1, C2, C3 are assigned too indeed!

Also I found a new way you can turn the white on as well by twisting C1, C2, C3 knobs and touching any other knob and it’ll turn white and by turning the C1, C2, C3 back to off sometimes the white will go away on those parameters and turn back to it’s color!

Hey all @here , white color of synth parameter just means it’s been affected by a macro. @synthdawg could you add this to user manual please? I’ll close this as by design. Thanks for caring and support!

Thank you for confirming @miropoly

@miropoly I still think maybe a bug?

Turn up any macro knobs and nothing turns white. However i found out what’s making it turn white…

Touch any of the 9 knobs on the right side of the macros and the parameters turn white or turn the main scroll knob by screen through the pages or press any of the buttons like lfo/adsr and go through the pages and you’ll see parameters in white. Turn the macro knob down and touch any knob again or button or scroll with screen encoder and it goes back to normal color.

In my opinion soon as someone turns a macro knob the parameter or parameters effected should turn white automatically, but they are not doing that.

Ok I made a video with basically the same info I wrote out above (see post above this) @miropoly I just thought seeing it would make for a better example.

I believe it may be intended as you say, but I also believe it’s not working correctly like it should be, so therefore a bug that needs fixed maybe?

I’ll leave this video on my google drive until we come to a conclusion if it’s indeed a bug that needs fixed or not.

Hi, we actually made a decision not to auto-update the parameter highlights (turning white) when a macro knob is turned. The main reason was performance optimization — constantly scanning and refreshing affected parameters can be surprisingly taxing, especially with complex patches and routing.

That said, we totally get how this could feel unintuitive, especially when you’re expecting immediate visual feedback. It’s something we’re keeping an eye on, and your input definitely helps us evaluate whether that trade-off still makes sense or if it’s something we should revisit.

Really appreciate you taking the time to dig into it and share your thoughts!
