I just wanted to check before I pick one up elsewhere, and if there is confirmation I’m happy to delete this to avoid confusion.
I just tried to pick up a Play+ from a store in the UK, and received an email saying the following
*Re: Polyend Play+ *
We are afraid that we have just received news from our supplier that the item you have ordered has now been discontinued. Unfortunately this means that we will not be able to fulfil your order with us.
I am assuming that this is just that the supplier that they use is no longer placing orders, but I just wanted to see if I had missed some announcement or news about the future of the Play+? I know there is some big firmware coming soon, so my guess is this is some confusion on the supplier side. Just wanted to check before I invest in the hardware!
@Sandroid This was my assumption, just wanted to check!
@gravedraq It was Gear4music, site I have no problems with and used before. Yea I saw it’s still in stock in a few other places, just in case like it was going to be “final stock” or something like that? The problem I have is that I did a trade in of some other gear for store credit, only to find that it was no longer available there. Trying to get the store credit switched for cash to go elsewhere.
Ey mate! Since Polyend banned my message (it seems they not want to read the truth about this device so I’ve just send you a direct message.)
BTW, in other stores the device seems to be on sale, so I think you don’t need to worry for the discountinuation. (waiting for Polyend to confirm)
Nobody banned this users message, it was reported by the community as Off-Topic (again).
A direct discussion with the user in the general chat has cleared this misconception up. - @Sandroid
Hi, no we aren’t discountinuing Play+, sometimes stores get confused between “out of stock” and “discontinued” - I don’t know why but it happens, just waiting on parts to build more now.
Thanks for the responses. Happy for this thread to be completely deleted so that it doesn’t cause confusion/panic/disruption. Looking forward to playing with my Play+!
