VST Control through Ableton

I am fairly new to making music and extremely new to the PT but absolutely loving it.

I am trying to control VST parameters with midi CC from the PT through Ableton but can’t seem to get anything to work.

If someone had any help it would be much appreciated.

you will need to make cc events happen before the downbeat where they take effect
