I was offered a used Play. What do I have to doublecheck prior to buying? Do I need to register my Play in order to get support and new firmware versions?
Thanx in advance!
You can download latest firmware and manuals on polyend website without registering. However you can’t get the SD card content if needed without registering.
I have a original play on the way this week too :] Had one before and let it go, but I missed it and got one coming back.
Heres the checklist I tested my used Play with.
- Button - Power
- Buttons - front panel
- Buttons - grid
- Buttons RGB lighting
- Main stepped encoder and select button
- All endless encoders
- Touch feature on encoders
- Screen
- MIDI In/Out DIN and USB
- Audio out / headphones
- SD card load/save (export a factory demo to test)
- Reset button (need firmware on SD card for this test)
- Firmware update to 1.5
- Long run test for stability

Hi! @michael.markaritzer.
The previous owner have to remove the play from his account if he had registered the product, so you can download the factory content of the SD card.
The firmware updates are always available.
Think I recall a case of a second hand owner who resolved this via the polyend support team, but it’s not ideal.
