What is the best way to incorporate triol (3) rhythms in the Polyend Step.
I’m trying to create Cissy Strut in the Step, but it doesn’t feel correct. What is best practice in this?

A triplet is achieved by using the micromove function.
For example try these steps: [1] [2+33] [3+66]
A triplet is basically 3 notes at the time of 4. So 4 eight notes 1-2-3-4 are a quarter triplet 1-2-3 with 33% more note length per note.
But..listening to the cissy strut drums right now, its a 4\4 with lots of swing so its eight notes with 75% swing, wich make them technically triplets all over the place. Shuffle or swing shifts eight notes, so two eight notes will be played as dotted eight and sixteenth.
Thanks, good stuff!!
Hi Patrick,
Am still in the learning process…
But do you mean by 33% a micromove of 8/24, and with 66% a micromove of 16/24?
And do you maybe know why it is divided in + and - 24 microsteps?
(btw - am now creating Londing Calling in the Step which is in a 12/8 bar -all triplets, where every second hihat is set to micromove 8/24 and every third to micromove 16/24 to get that triplet feel – right?)
A step has 24 subunits 11 accessible in either direction 0/24 is the middle.
The Clash - London calling is a 4/4 with 8th triplets on the hihats.
there are different ways to achieve this, you can set the hithat pattern track to a different track length (12 steps for example) or add swing etc.
Experiment with it, that’s part of the fun😊
