I can hit a single note/pad on the Synth in chord mode and a chord plays. If I trigger that same note externally using a Tracker + (or other midi keyboard/sequencer) only a single note plays.
Why would a Synth exist with a fantastic chord mode who’s primarily way of playing is to sequence it externally only to have it not utilize chord mode via MIDI? Especially if paired with a fellow Polyend product?
What should this feature achieve?
Play/trigger a single note using an external MIDI device and have chord mode play a chord, the same as it does if you play it with your finger on a pad.
Are there any workarounds?
If using a Tracker or other single note/track device, you have to utilize multiple tracks to play one chord. If using a larger poly MIDI sequencer you have to manually play each chord or rely on the sequencers chord mode if it has one.
Since these Synth feature requests are up for voting now, I wanted to highlight my related submission: Grid Followers respond to external MIDI sequencing While not exactly the same, both seek to leverage the potential power of the grid while using external midi sequencers. Happy voting!
This is a really important feature IMO… I sequence everything from a central groovebox and not being able to trigger chords / followers is a major hamstring for the potential of this setup.
Playing with Polyend Play MK1 and Polyend synth. That would be a great feature because of the various and beautiful chords! Please include this in the next update.
Oh no! I relied so heavily on Google’s search results and thought this feature wasn’t included yet, and lo and behold, I’ve already downloaded the update, but I haven’t actually looked for this function yet; it must have somehow slipped through the cracks.
I just tried it out, it’s very good, it’s really fun, and it expands Polend Synth with a few features that were really important.
