What is the problem?
Polyend Tracker relies on a resampling workflow that works well to overcome processing power limitations. However, in complex processes (e.g., editing the sample, applying three effects, cutting evenly, triggering notes with effects, rendering, editing the sample, etc.), achieving the same result with different samples becomes repetitive and slow.
What should this feature achieve?
Support some type of scripting language to automate repetitive tasks and run recipes that are already part of ones workflow. It will perform a similar function to VBScript macros in Microsoft Office.
It could be a lightweight language, such as Lisp, or one based on JSON.
Edit: It can be based on the same tracker grid system.
This has the potential to create a scripting community that shares and discusses its automations, and it can be useful for overcoming some Tracker limitations. This can decrease feature requests and maintenance efforts allowing the Polyend team to focus more in core features.
Are there any workarounds?
